[Important Connectivity Note] This controller is fully compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2. However, units manufactured prior to June 2025 require a mandatory firmware update to enable compatibility with the new console.

  • Required Firmware: v2.01 or higher (M30) / v1.04 or higher (80FG).

  • Update Method: Download the official 8BitDo Firmware Updater or Ultimate Software V2 from support.8bitdo.com and connect your controller to a PC/Mac via USB.

  • Limitation: Please note that while fully functional for gameplay, this controller cannot wake the Switch 2 from sleep mode. The console must be powered on manually or via an official Pro Controller.
